Rainbows
Rainbows would never be rainbows
If sunshine had never met rain.
No one would ever need comfort
If there were no sadness and pain.
But life holds both sunshine and showers
The days aren’t all bright and fair.
So look through the showers for the rainbows
You’ll always find hope shining there.

To the Child in My Heart
O precious, tiny, sweet little one
You will always be to me
So perfect, pure, and innocent
Just as you were meant to be.
We dreamed of you and of your life
And all that it would be
We waited and longed for you to come
And join our family.
We never had the chance to play,
To laugh, to rock, to wiggle.
We long to hold you, touch you now
And listen to you giggle.
I’ll always be your mother.
He’Il always be your dad.
You will always be our child,
The child that we had-
But now you‘re gone … but yet you ‘re here.
We’ll sense you everywhere.
You are our sorrow and our joy.
There’s love in every tear,
Just know our love goes deep and strong.
We’ll forget you never—
The child we had, but never had,
And yet will have forever

The Special Child
No one but a parent can tell the feeling inside
The moment they are told “It’s a special child”.
First thing you panic, then break down and cry,
Then look at your child and start wondering why.
“Why me dear Lord?” I don’t know where to begin.
Then fear and torment start deep down within.
“How shall I cope?” This cannot be true.
No one and no words are a comfort to you.
You lift up your baby as if in a trance
And look at your child with a second glance.
So perfect and small, who needs comforting too.
Then your heart starts to melt as you hug them to you.
At last comes the feeling you are not on your own,
There is someone to guide you down the path you are going.
God gives you the strength from deep down inside,
To love, to cherish this special child
Little Children
They came to visit us one day
Those little children who could not stay
They brought with them love and joy
Each and every girl and boy
But one by one they had to go
Why they went we do not know
They stole our hearts while they were here
Now fill or lives with thoughts so dear,
That he4lp us daily in our grief
Remembering lives that were so brief
And in our grief we learn to cope
To resume our lives with a little hope
No words will ever ease our pain
Or repair our shattered lives again
But in our there will be,
A special place that none can see
Which we will keep ‘till our dying day
For those little children who could not stay
