The Story

Beautiful daughter of Sinead and William Thavenot named Florence, was born on Monday 1 February 2021. Sadly, she never got to take a breath or open her eyes. The wind is entirely taken from you, the mind at once numb to the magnitude of what has happened, of the future you thought was yours, and everything you have ever wanted, gone in an instant. This is not Trisomy story but the story may resonate with families.

They know there are friends and family who would like to give to a suitable charity in memory of Florence, and have set up a fundraising page on JustGiving for the National Maternity Hospital Foundation, while also acting as a means to share some of Florence’s story with a wider audience. The NMH Foundation raises funds for the National Maternity Hospital at Holles Street, which provides world class perinatal, neonatal, and maternal care to more than 8,000 patients every year.

We raise vital funds to invest in research, to provide vital equipment and technology within the hospital, and to support the work of the care teams and support services caring for mothers and tiny babies at the National Maternity Hospital 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.”
