Autumn Break/AGM

The 30th S.O.F.T. Ireland Annual General Meeting took place on Saturday 16 October in the Talbot Hotel Carlow. Thank You all for supporting AGM 2021. The new committee was elected with Ann Rooney as Chairperson. We had a good turnout on Saturday 16 October 2021 and for the weekend.

This was a great relaxed weekend for parents/families to come together to support, catch up with old and new families and not to forget to acknowledge & celebrate their special children (surviving and passed).

Global Wave of Light took place in the Leinster Suite on Fri evening as well as the Family Bingo etc

Sat morning saw the Opening Ceremony with the S.O.F.T. Family Tree. One parent went to the Dome Activity Centre with children and one parent stayed for AGM.

Speaker Roderic O’Gorman, Minister for Children, Disability, Equality,Youth & Integration gave a well received presentation on his current role.

This was followed by Roderic launching our revised “Why Our Baby” Book with photo opportunities. Printed copies at a later date.

Tea/Coffee/Drink for children with Biscuits/Small fruit was served. We had the afternoon free in Leisure Centre etc

Dinner was served in evening followed by Raffle, Halloween Fancy Dress, Newsletters revolving throughout, GG Disco for children etc and nor forgetting the Selfie Frames

On Sunday morning we had the Closing Ceremony with Poems, Readings, Birthdays, Tributes, etc. Blowing Bubbles outside for deceased and living trisomy children.

We has a nice piece of 30th Birthday Cake, Tea/Coffee/drink for children  A 30th Anniversary Memento was presented to everyone
